Behavior adjustment training
Behavior adjustment training (BAT) is a well known technique to help dogs with their frustration, fearfulness, and reactivity. What BAT basically is, is helping the reactive dog choose a right decision and rewarding with a functional reward like going a distance away from the trigger. I suggest purchasing the book because it has a lot of helpful information that is really useful for owners with reactive dogs. I currently use BAT on walks with Bolt to help him get over his reactivity towards other dogs.
~Training a new trick
One thing that is important for dogs is mental stimulation, and thats where dog tricks come in. When teaching your dog a new trick something you always have to remember is to not get frustrated, your dog will be able to tell that your mad and will shut down and will not want to train anymore. So if you feel frustrated stop training and do something you like, then later on once your calmed down you can start training again.Something else you have to remember is that some dogs are faster at learning new things than other dogs, so go at your dogs pace and dont rush things.
